Professional Advisors Seminars & Workshops

The Office of Gift Planning regularly holds seminars and workshops for our Professional Advisors (such as Attorneys, Certified Public Accountants, Financial Advisors, Realtors, Insurance Brokers, Appraisers etc.) to provide advanced education about sophisticated and complex gift, tax and estate planning vehicles along with their technical aspects. This is also an opportunity for networking with your fellow professional advisors. These seminars and workshops offer the attendees a free opportunity to learn the subject matter in more detail from local experts in their fields and from our experienced Gift Planning Officers. We provide quality speakers with quality presentations about the topics that are relevant to your work.

Seminars include a complimentary lunch and workshops include snacks and beverages. Free MCLE is offered to those that qualify. Confirmed RSVPs are required for all luncheon seminars please. Space is limited and we frequently fill all available spaces and place people on a waiting list.

Learn the basics, tips and tricks of charitable remainder trusts. Our experienced presenters will lead the seminar attendees through the nuts and bolts of drafting the various types of CRTs including a sample trust. Learn about which assets are typically used to fund the trust, funding issues and timing problems with transfers. Learn about representing the trustee during the sale of the appreciated trust assets, issues with prearranged sales, assignment of income theory, rules for valuation of trust assets, how to successfully administer the trust, reporting and accounting requirements, terminating the trust and more.This seminar is intended for new attorneys as well as advanced estate planning attorneys. Non-attorneys are placed on a waiting list and will be notified one week before the seminar of availability.

2018 Gift Planning Workshop:

The Office of Gift Planning holds small intimate workshops for professional advisors to educate them about advanced gift planning vehicles in a more relaxed and informal venue. These workshops offer the attendees a free opportunity to learn the subject matter in more detail from our experienced Gift Planning Officers. You will also learn how to use our complimentary research resources, our website, our tax deduction calculators and how to prepare client illustrations using our free on-line website software. You will have an opportunity to ask questions in a more casual and interactive setting.
